A British doctor who was suspended for openly questioning the safety of vaccines and the reliability of Covid tests has won his High Court appeal to retain his freedom of expression following a gag order from the General medical Council (GMC).

Dr Sam White.

After questioning the efficacy of face masks in a video posted on Instagram and Twitter in June 2021, Dr. Samuel White was slapped with an 18-month social media ban by the GMC

In a video, White explained why he could no longer tolerate working as an NHS GP because of the “lies” around the NHS and the response of the UK government to the pandemic, which were “so vast” he could no longer “stomach” them.

White said: “99% of people who contract Covid-19 survive and that most of those who had died had also suffered from multiple medical problems.”

White also said “masks do nothing” to stop the spread of Covid.

After he resigned his NHS job the GMC insisted that he:

  • Must not use social media to put forward or share any views about the Covid-19 pandemic and its associated aspects.
  • He must seek to remove any social media posts he has been responsible for or has shared relating to his views of the Covid- 19 pandemic and its associated aspects.

The GMC, which accused Dr White of spreading miss-information, did not impose any conditions preventing him from practicing medicine, which he continues to do.

Following a hearing in the London High Court on 4 November 2021, and a decision released late December, Honourable Mr Justice Dove said the GMC was in error in placing freedom of expression restrictions on Dr White.

Dr White told The Conservative Woman: “It was really important to do this for other doctors and nurses who want to speak out and don’t feel able, as well as for me.

“I know there are many out there who want open debate. Censorship on all platforms has made that difficult anyway but my example – first being suspended as an NHS doctor, and then being told to stay off social media – scared many.

“I was overjoyed at the High Court ruling but at the same time felt like the work really needed to start and I had an unbearable burden of guilt. Not being able to talk and warn people for the last four months about what’s been going on has been really difficult.”

Dr White called for a “criminal investigation” by London police in December.

A complaint has been laid with Hammersmith Police and there is much speculation that police are investigating injuries caused by vaccines.

A spokesman for FullFact said: “On 20 December (2021), a number of documents were submitted at a west London police station in support of allegations of criminality in relation to the UK’s vaccine programme.

“Officers have been tasked with reviewing the documents. This process is time consuming and has been prolonged by the submission of further documents by people encouraged to do so online.

“While the assessment continues, to date there is nothing to indicate that a crime has been committed and no criminal investigation has been launched.”
