UK prime minister Boris Johnson has ended requirements for people to use facemasks and covid passports as England starts to return to something like 2019…

Speaking in the House of Commons he says requirements for facemasks in classrooms are to be scrapped and staff should call their employers to make arrangements to return to work… “We will trust the judgment of the British people…”

Meanwhile, French Prime Minister Jean Castex is to set out a timetable for a gradual lifting of Covid-19 rules and restrictions in the coming months, government spokesman Gabriel Attal said.

Castex will lay out the calendar along with Health Minister Olivier Veran at a press conference following a cabinet meeting on the health crisis, with France recording an average of nearly 310,000 daily cases over the past week.
